on the old platform, if I replied to the last post in a thread, and while I was typing someone else posted to the same thread, when I clicked subjectmarks that thread showed two unread messages. on the new platform it shows no unread messages.

In effect, on the new platform you miss seeing the post that was made between the last post you read and the post you made.
