"Hearst Newspapers, also found that 81 percent of people surveyed would vote for a woman for president and 53 percent think New York Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (news - web sites) should try for the job. "

Tejek, can you believe there are 19% of Americans that think a woman shouldn't be president. The statistic implies one in five people are backwards.

Glad to see Hillary with 53% votes. Given the 19%, the 53% actually garners more attention in that it's like saying 65% of all voters that believe in equality think Hillary should try for the job.

RE: "The pollsters found about 60 percent of voters said they expect a woman to be the Democrats' nominee for president in 2008. In contrast, they found 18 percent expected the Republican ticket to be headed by a woman. "

Meanwhile, Republican Party continues to alienate women from their pool.
