Otherwise, why tell him three times about "credible reports" that his plane was to be shot down? Since the reports were clearly "manufactured" there must have been a very important reason why he was told about them. I maintain this reason was to provide an alibi to those who would have shot his plane down. It makes sense... I agree --Bush got blackmailed in midair.
