Thanks for your thoughtful response.

Say our guy is very frugal. He lives on 15K from SS and converts only another 15K each year from his ten million dollar nest egg. Do you still think that what he chooses to live on, 30K, is the right answer? Does 30K of declared income represent his economic situation?
