Options and IRAs .... apparently the online brokerages are allowing some account holders to buy and sell options from their IRA account.

My understanding is that funds in an IRA cannot be used as collateral for anything. Doesn't that mean the house might have to eat the loss if you sell some calls or puts and they go the wrong way on you?

A person could lose his ass on options then file chapter 7 and keep the IRA.
