I think LRCX could get a 50% premium from AMAT and still make AMAT's numbers look better...
but that would leave only two players in the etch market beside TEL;
so there could be some legal issues IMHO
BTW:
I used to be an ETEC holder :O)

FYI
a long time ago TEL used to be distributor for Lam's Autoetch and Rainbow and there were more "similarities" among TEL's oxide etcher and the Exelan.

I don't think KLAC would venture out into frontend business;
"on paper" NVLS/LRCX looks very good with regards complementing the product portfolio
