<<I love Netflix -- as a consumer of video services. Much, much better than the alternatives.>>

I'm curious whether you've tried any online alternatives. Blockbuster has its own online, unlimited, 3-out plan for $14.99/month. Blockbuster's plan not only is $3/month cheaper, but also offers 2 coupons per month for free in-store rentals.

I've heard that it's difficult to get "New Releases" on Netflix. I've also heard that Netflix throttles heavy users, i.e., Netflix tries to slow down these users by using "Shipping Tomorrow" and other schemes.

Have you experienced either of these?

I tried Netflix for around 3 months. No complaints with the service.

I switched to Blockbuster a few months ago. No complaints with Blockbuster's service either. I'm able to rent just as many DVDs with Blockbuster as I was able to rent with Netflix. In addition, with Blockbuster "New Releases" are always available. I've rented "The Notebook", "Collateral", and many others during 1st week of release with no waits.
