Jewel and those nine other people are banned forever, yes. I really tried to have a very open forum here, but it was never designed to be a ferocious and ugly fight 24/7, and it just didn't work out. Feelies is a thread where politics are discussed sometimes, but it is not a political argument thread as such. It is an extremely general thread where I want women (ladies, not slug-a-fest women) to feel comfortable. And I get bored arguing. I like things mellow and warm most of the time.

I would think that people who were banned and then invited back would behave themselves here if it was that important for them to post here, but I was obviously mistaken in the case of most of the original bannees. Some people must live their entire lives here trying to be as ugly as possible or something. I guess they sleep curled up under the right-wing thread banners, warmed by the constant hum of the network. People I don't even remember from six years ago when I left are obsessed with me and this thread for reasons I cannot even fathom. Maybe they should get lives or something. I certainly don't need their negative energy in mine.

I do reserve the right, of course, to ban others who only want to attack or write troll posts or say horrible things about the people here at other threads. There are plenty of places to be ugly and slimy at SI. This is not one of them.
