Yes, I had a similar experience growing up as a kid. The most destructive kid on our block (tried to burn down a house at 8 or 9 years old, and liked to kill trees), and another one, the biggest bully around, encouraged to be so by his father, both became police officers in a large NJ city. And I will never forget the time I had to visit someone in the projects in Newark, and a white police officer started beating a black kid for not "moving on" quickly enough... Then there was the time a cop almost shot me in the face for stealing my own car. Seems the department did not inform their officers properly that my car had been found a few days before... Plenty of other stories also, but do not want to bore the readers here. Anyway, I agree that using a taser is better than firing a gun at somebody, as long as the "safety" of the weapon does not lead to further police brutality.
