Jayhawks call it quits..Excellent band with a solid track record. MArk Olson left the band a few years ago to hang out with wife, Victoria Williams. Gary Louris kept it going in fine form and they turned a bit more electric over the years. I saw them several times..always a good show
oddly enough Louris and Olson are back touring together, but no longer the JAyhawks.
An under appreciated band that had a huge following here in Austin..I suppose they were the beginnings of ALT-Country along with Uncle Tupelo and a few others
sad to see another great band end it...My kids grew up on "Tomorrow the Green Grass" and "Hollywood Town Hall"..there might be one throw-away tune between the two Records...both are just fabulous stem to stearn. I urge everyone to go buy these records..independent artists deserve our support..you can't go wrong here
Three "classics" from "Tomorrow the Green Grass" (1995)..this can in no way pay proper tribute to such a great band but....just maybe they'll grab a few new fans
the beautiful "Blue"

Where have all my friends gone They've all disappeared Turned around maybe one day You're all that was there Stood by on believing Stood by on my own Always thought I was someone Turned out I was wrong
You brought me through And you made me feel
Chorus: So Blue Why don't you stay behind So Blue Why don't you stop and look at what's going down
Lived by an old woman She'd never sell me a lie It's hard to sing with someone Who won't sing with you Give all of my mercy Give all of my heart Never thought that I'd miss you That I'd miss you so much
You brought me through And you made me feel
(Chorus)
All my life (Stand by) I've waited for (Stand by) Someone I (Waiting round) Could show the door (Now, that I’m blue) But nothing seems to change (That I’m blue from now on) You've come back into my arms
So Blue Why don't you stay behind So Blue Why don’t you. Why don’t you stay behind. So Blue Why don’t you. Why don’t you stay behind. So Blue Why don't you stop and look at what's going down

and the haunting "Two Hearts"...when the "I'm lonely" chorus hits the pain hits hard...you can feel it
"Two Hearts"

Well, I know your name Takes you back from where you came Your words, they show Sometimes it's real to be alone So real to be alone
I survive, it's true But when I get close to June Alright, okay It's just two hearts that make us pay Two hearts that make us pay
It's no better when you cry Well, have you stopped to watch? She'll fly Well, have you stopped to watch? She'll...
I-I-I-I'm lonely I-I-I-I'm lonely I-I-I-I'm lonely too
Well, the love you need I don't expect you to let me see You held your grace It's just two hearts that make us pay Two hearts that make us pay
You appear so strong Only faith could lead us home Alright, okay It's just two hearts that make us pay Two hearts that make us pay Oh, two hearts that make us pay
#3-- "Ann Jane"..I like the sound of this tune..classic HAWKS
