Fitzgerald is playing a very clever game. What he's doing is attempting to make the appearance of placating Democratic Party demands for accountability on the Plame case while actually setting up a very clever back door so that he can be part of the cover-up conspiracy. Keep your eye on the appellate court or Supreme Court rulings. Eventually, Miller and the other schlub are going to be let go due to legal technicalities. Fitzgerald will appear to the naive to have given this contempt case a real effort, while in reality, he's just slow walking the faux charges and wasting everyone's time hoping that the scandal will just blow away in a spring breeze.

Fitzgerald may be lucky. The Gannon sex/security scandal is definitely upstaging the Plame investigation.

And now we're even looking at a new scandal-du-jour with incendiary revelations about the cynical and scurrilous Frank Luntz:
