A few days of aching muscles and headache would be a small price to pay to beat a deadly flu. I know, which is why I'd be the first in line. I just have a hard time seeing the US (for that matter the world) successfully mobilizing an effort to give out drugs (which have to be kept refrigerated) and syringes and training people to use them. A decent percentage of the population will do it, but not nearly as many as if they just could pass out pills.
