David, RE: "The problem isn't caused by "Congress looting" ANYTHING. Every nickel that has been borrowed from the trust is evidenced by a United States note. "

This is exactly my definition of "looting."

No money should be borrowed. No excuses.

I and a lot of other younger people do not like "Pay as you Go." We do not like borrowing. I saw a demographic report that showed boomers borrow more than Gen X and Gen Y on discretionary items. (Though Gen Y and Gen X are borrowing more on houses (according to this same report), given the bubble that the boomers in Congress don't want to address.)

Additionally, due to the demographic shifts, pay-as-you-go reads: pay boomers (who don't save more than 1%) but screw you.

I could possibly be convinced of a pay-as-you-go system, if there was a mandate to force boomers to save more than 1%. They can't have it both ways and eat their cake too.

Regards,
Amy J
