This is a system that calls out for reform.
I second that motion.
Is it not amazing that securities industry cannot come up with a COMMON set of ratings for stocks.
Each major Securites company uses it OWN home cooked set of descriptors. I mean look at this list -- what a mish-mash:
Buy, trading buy, strong buy,short term buy outperform, outperform Signftly, mkt outperform, underperform accumulate, hold, short term hold, neutral, (and my personal favorite) ATTRACTIVE.
Oh and then there are the "market makers" -- don't get me started.
Where is the Securities and Exchange Commission when you really, really, really, really need them? |
