Many folks, for political or philosophical reasons, will say that SS is taking tax dollars.

Its not political or ideological. Its just fact. At some point in the future SS will take income tax dollars. Of course right now the rest of the treasury is using SS tax dollars and will be for at least the next dozen years.

The fact is that SS has been supporting government spending on military and other programs for many years, and now it's time to pay the piper.

Yup, 100% true, as was my statement.

Since SS surpluses have been supporting the military for so many years, isn't it time for military spending to support SS?

SS Taxes have supported the military (and SS, and farm price supports, and foreign aid, and corporate welfare, ect.) for a long time. SS spending hasn't supported the military, and military spending can't support SS. There are no military taxes that can support SS.
