It makes sense to make the budget situation seem better, but changeing then wont really make the fiscal situation any better. I think politicians will change it later for self serving reasons.

I think both figures should be published both now and then. total government deficit, and deficit with SS spending and taxes removed. Ideally neither should have too big of deficit.
