I tend to not respond to responses to posts of mine that were written several days earlier...

Is there any indication that people are getting drugs and procedures they don't need on a grand scale? If that's the case (and I don't think it is), then it's the fault of the doctors, not the health insurance system. The doctors should not recommend what a patient doesn't need.

Of course, a mark of Republicanism these days is blaming individuals before blaming businesses... Poor businesses -- if only they were unregulated and left to exist in a truly "free" market, they would always work in ways that are positive for society!
