The Long Boom

Think times are good now? Wait till you hear these futurists.

By John Liscio

Q: At a recent meeting at Lloyd's of London, a Year 2000 task force told underwriters to expect $1 trillion in litigation in the U.S. alone.

Schwartz: The Year 2000 problem is an enormously exaggerated problem. As a crisis it's trivial. It harkens back to the days when everyone was worried about $100-a-barrel oil. American Express just lowered its expected Y2K bill from an estimated $40 million to only $10 million.>

This is just FYI but to all who think the Y2K issue is overblown ( and I do) this is something to think about on the eve of the Y2K CR conference.
