Why is it that people selling these magnets should donate their profits?
I am not anti-capitalist, I am anti-nonsense.
I send money to charities, and they send me stickers for my car, e.g., WETA (local PBS as you know), Appalachian Trail Society, Baltimore Aquarium, FONZ (Friends of the National Zoo). Those stickers actually mean something.
Similarly, I buy Christmas ornaments and the money goes to the organizations, e.g., Monticello, The White House Historical Society, The Capitol Hill Historical Society, The Supreme Court Historical Society, and the Mount Vernon Ladies Association.
In what sense are you "supporting the troops" if all you do is put up a sign? It's a feel-good thing that accomplishes little. The troops need material support.
I just feel that this is an opportunity to solicit material support for the troops that is being wasted. |
