Everything I am reading suggests to me that while the weather might be colder than normal for the next week in the upper midwest and northeast, inventories are not an issue. Canadian draws from storage are also lower and there is warm weather creeping all over the country. Robry's data indicates an even lower draw for next week's report, but heck, who knows... There is sector rotation going on and some window dressing as well with strong inflows from funds and traders playing the cold artic blast that was forecasted last week. Some traders who bought oil contracts might be tempted to lock in gains as SA et. al. try to keep prices within the $40-$50 band. Libya and Iraq will soon be producing more oil and that will also increase supply that has not been around for a while.

The OIH is trading with a p/e of 44.61 and a dividend yield of 0.44%. YTD, it is up about 14%, as is the OSX. The OSX is trading with a p/e of 38.8 and a dividend yield of 0.39%

If you look at what is happening with XOM, it is indicative of what managers must do to get exposure to "must have sectors." I am staying short via April puts for now. The same behavior can be seen in steel, copper, and yes, the drillers. Month-end is one day away and then we will see if there is any interest in profit taking come March, as soon as the weather warms up a bit.

Best regards,
