Islamist in a political sense means governing with religion in mind as opposed to secular. Saudi would naturally be more likely to be Islamist than Turkey. The Shia government in Iran would be considered Islamist since the clergy has veto power over everything. So Islamist politicians would be as opposed to secular politicians. However, the Islamists in SA are Sunnis, right? ted
