It doesn't qualify as generous in my book for one who takes way more than he needs to get by to give a tiny percentage to charity.

I'd rather live in a society where there isn't such a dramatic difference between the wealthy and the poor. Maybe that's somewhat socialistic. So be it. IMO Jesus was socialistic so that puts me in good company.

But that's just me.
