It is incomprehensible to me that Uncle Sam doesn't provide them. Having served, I find this normal. You can go to the medic's tent and get these things, but they always run out. Army supply has to be seen to be believed. All armies, all ages. "Hey Julius, supply got any new sandals? Are you kidding, Octavius?"
