Wait before you dunk this tea bag in hot water. The world’s most expensive diamond teabag worth $14,320 (£7,500) was designed by Maria Webster of Liverpool, England, for jeweler Boodle and Dunthorne.

The piece is identical to a standard pyramid-shaped tea bag, but the filling is a mixture of fine, limited edition tea leaves --and 100, 2.25 carat diamonds. Another 100 diamonds cover the outside of the bag, while 80 decorate the white gold chain used in place of the standard string.

Tea bag production company PG Tips commissioned the diamond bag to celebrate their 75th birthday. The diamond tea bag will tour the U.K. in March 2005 and be used as a prize to raise money for Manchester Children's Hospital.
