Well, congratulations on your new fruit and vegetable regime, Ish! I bet you'll feel healthier soon. You know, we had a visitor here recently who had been living in a little Southern town next to a barbecue restaurant. He was eating a lot of meat! Since this is a vegan household he had to start eating the way we do, and realized soon that he was feeling much better, much lighter, much more energetic, and his digestive system was working a lot better. He was surprised, because he thought like many people that his body needed a lot of protein. It doesn't, really, and eating meat makes people sluggish. It is very hard work for the body to digest meat. So I know that the more vegetables and fruits you eat, the happier you will be. See, happiness is simple!

In the Pacific Northwest in the 1980's, which was the beginning of their regional cuisine, really, I bought a cookbook of Seattle restaurant chefs, and one of them had a recipe for steak in a savory blueberry sauce that looked quite delicious.

Here's one off the net that looks fairly similar. Bon appetit!

Grilled Steak With Blueberry Sauce

beef, grilling recipes, main dish, sauces, steak

2 1/2 cups fresh or frozen blueberries
1 small onion; chopped
1/4 cup molasses
1/4 cup white wine vinegar
1/4 cup ketchup
3 tablespoons prepared mustard
1/2 teaspoon ground red pepper
4 t-bone; (6 to 8 ounce)
-- steaks

Combine first 7 ingredients in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat; reduce heat, and simmer, stirring often, 15 minutes. Cool 10 minutes. Process mixture in a blender until smooth, stopping once to= scrape down sides. Keep warm. Grill steaks, without grill lid, over medium-high heat (350F to 400F) 4 to 6 minutes on each side or to desired degree of doneness. Serve with sauce.
