Why didn't Kerry win ? My own opinions .. not linked.. and for what they are worth.. Kerry has no charisma. Truthfully when I watched Bush campaign in his shirt with sleeves rolled up had I not been against to much to what he stood for... I would have chosen him just because he came across as the figure he intended to project.. Kerry never fought the Swiftwater or mud lies.. He just let them lie and never rejected their accusations, allowed the public to see how they were financed and from where the allegations came. I never was FOR Kerry so much as I was against BUSH. Kerry's wife, although I liked her spit and fire.. was not the kind of first lady Americans go for. Laura with her more Step ford wives demeanor was more acceptable. There were other things going too.. No one ever challenged that lump in Bush's back which I think was a microphone.. However it's too late to debate it so let's not. It's just my opinion. Kerry is more of an intellectual than Bush who I think relies on other's opinions too much.. He admittedly doesn't read and doesn't like to do so. He is rather bull headed..and Kerry is more level headed however, Kerry did vote for the war and that hurt him. FLIP FLOP. He just was not a strong candidate and right now I don't know of one for the Democrats.. I think George is going to have to shoot himself in the foot which he has come close to doing but is always rescued by Rove...In other words he will have to self destruct. It's like the game where the other team is not so much better but the better team loses because of errors in judgment and mistakes on the job. I am not for this new Social Security Program. That cartoon blaming the AARP was a sham perpetrated by a group that to me represents the lowest form of journalism.. AARP was great when it was for the Medicare program but now that it dares to question the SS one... it suddenly has become on the shit list. Maureen Dowd was interviewed one night on someones show and I respect her opinion more than that of Coulter whom I find objectionable with her superiority attitude and perverted sense of humor. However this is just me. M Dowd seems sane. Anyway.. Bush also appealed to the RELIGIOUS RIGHT and their anti gay and anti abortion stand. Spending time in Religious right country in the summers I know how easily those congregations are led by the nose by their preachers. Kerry did not. AND Bush had Rove. The spinner of the innuendo and disinformation personified. Oh, by the way, the guy who was jut caught for all those murders... an ardent church goer and member.. What we see is not always what we get. and vice versa.
