The fact that he is even considering allowing multi-party election is a step in the right direction. Did you think these countries would all become Democratic over night?

No, but relying on the guy who wants to get elected for the sixth time to install democracy in Egypt is like being excited about the executioner working 6 days a week instead of 7. It's a step in the right direction, but so was Saddam's decision to allow weapons inspectors to enter Iraq in 1991 after the 1st Gulf War, and look what that got the world - nothing (in case you were going to say something else!). Some "steps in the right direction" are meaningless appeasement, and do not deserve your praise. Call them what they are, a dictator doing whatever it takes to reduce external pressure.

Go ahead and keep denying that progress is being made in the Middle East.

? Show me where I have made this claim. I'm pointing out that Mubarak's "reform" (which you are praising as a sign of progress) is a sham. If he wanted multiparty democracy, step one would be for HIM to not run again. That's not the same as saying there has been zero progress in the ME. You understand the difference between broad topics (ME democracy) and specific examples (Mubarak's sham "reform" where he will win the two person election for Egyptian prime minister)?

The evidence will keep stacking up and you'll continue to look more and more ridiculous.

What exactly have I written that seems so ridiculous to you?
