Thanks for bringing up the press release between Amati and 8x8. Interesting. You asked about the synergies between Amati & Lucent.

Isn't Lucent also develop some type of xDSL ICs? Lucent, at least several years back, is a champion on CAP. THey may have adopted DMT in recent years. (?? anyone can verify??)

AMTX, being focused on DMT based ADSL, could theoretically possible license its technology to Lucent for Lucent (I mean, if the Lucent guys have no NIH syndrome) to develop ADSL chip sets.
