re: "I am glad to hear that leftist non-moonbats exist. Now, can they talk any kind of sense to the Democrats."
This is what was also said in the article: "I've been arguing that, as FDR's administration represented a sort of socialist revolution in America, GWB's represents a fascist revolution. Of course, in both cases the revolution is pretty mild: FDR wasn't Stalin; Bush isn't Hitler. But even if he were, let me put it like this. Hitler is an evil man. But by himself he's just another nutjob. He needs help."
How is bringing democratic elections to places that have never seen them before, fascist? Frankly it would be stupid to argue the United States was fascist when FDR was President. And it is equally foolish to argue IMO that Bush is facist either.
In 1941, the United States was attacked, and one of the responses was to take every person of Japanese heritage along the west coast and force them to evacuate (most were put into camps). Did this happen in 2001?
In 1941, Jim Crow was the law of the land in large sections of the country (in the far west anti asian laws were almost as restrictive to asians as Jim Crow). Now there is a net migration of African Americans to the South, and the past two Secretary of States have been African American.
In 1941, if a woman who was an american citizen married someone ineligible to obtain citizenship (ie. asian) she would lose her citizenship. In 2001, a man of chinese ancestory was governor of Washington (a hundred years earlier, the people of Washington did their best to force Chinese out of the State).
In 1941, African American students were segregated in the South, and Hispanic students were segregated in California (and probably other states in the west). |
