But you should also be questioning why on earth Putin just agreed to supply Iran nuclear fuel. For the same reason the Russians sell arms to China. To make money. Which is the same reason the US sends various technology around the world. To make money. There is no prohibition in the NPT or any other treaty that prohibits Iran from having a heavy water reactor. And there is no movement that I'm aware of to ban heavy water reactors. If their desire is to become a global power by means of WMD's they will be stopped and it will further destabilize the region. How about if we just have a real good hunch that they desire a WMD capability to become a regional power? Is that good enough to stop them? jttmab
