ANADIME AND AQUA PURE TEAM TO DELIVER WATER
DE-SALINISATION SERVICES COMPANIES TO COLLABORATE ON
DE-SALINISATION SERVICES FOR SAND WASHING FOR THE HEAVY
OIL INDUSTRY

CALGARY/KELOWNA, Sept. 3 /CNW/ - Anadime Corporation and Aqua Pure
Ventures Inc. today announced that they have signed a letter of intent to
deliver water de-salinisation services to the heavy oil industry in western
Canada. The letter of intent gives Anadime the exclusive right to utilise
Aqua Pure's unique water purification technology to recycle water used in sand
washing processes at heavy oil processing plants.
Aqua Pure, with the assistance of Colt Engineering of Calgary, has
developed a unique water purification process that is the most cost effective
system available in the world today for the recycling and purification of
contaminated waters. Anadime has considerable experience in the design and
operation of slop oil processing and disposal facilities in Alberta and
intends to install the first Aqua Pure units at its Elk Point and Cold Lake
plants early in 1998. The Aqua Pure equipment will allow Anadime to operate a
high capacity sand washing system at its heavy oil processing plants, without
needing to withdraw large quantities of fresh water from the environment.
``With this collaboration, Anadime and Aqua Pure have introduced a new,
low cost water recycling process into the heavy oil industry,'' said Owen
Pinnell, President and CEO of Anadime. ``Our developing network of heavy oil
sand and slop oil processing facilities will have access to clean fresh water
to supply Anadime's proprietary sand washing process, without needing to
extract finite water supplies from ground water and rivers.''
``This agreement enables Aqua Pure to indirectly provide its patent
pending process to the heavy oil industry in western Canada, through Anadime's
extensive network of heavy oil producing customers,'' said Harold Bauman,
President and CEO of Aqua Pure. ``This alliance with Anadime will enable us
to demonstrate the unique nature of our technology and increase the speed at
which we are able to access further energy industry applications for our
technology.''
Anadime Corporation is a leading edge, high growth provider of oilfield
processing and disposal services to the energy industry in western Canada.
From its expanding network of facilities throughout western Canada, the
company offers a full range of treating, terminalling, oilfield waste
management and produced sand disposal services. The company is listed on the
Alberta Stock Exchange (ASE), under the symbol AEM.
Aqua Pure Ventures Inc., headquartered in Kelowna, BC, is a supplier of
industrial waste water treatment systems. Aqua Pure has successfully processed
landfill leachate, mine tailings pond waters, secondary sewage and heavily
polluted saltwater. The company is listed on the Vancouver Stock Exchange
(VSE), under the symbol AQE.V.
