You know something? One of the best things that could happen to the system would be for hospitals to be REQUIRED to publish charges as best they could. Obviously, if a stroke occurs during a PTCA, the hospital stay will be longer and more expensive than a simple PTCA. But they could publish charges for a PTCA and the normal hospital stay. Real charges. Not this $30K --> $6K crap.
