ALMI PR of 3/01/2005 reassures that all is well at the Dragon
Mine site. It reads in part: "Atlas Mining President and CEO William Jacobson said, 'Since applying for our MSHA number last April, the Dragon Mine has been inspected several times. Each time our operation was deemed compliant and safe by MSHA with few corrections to be made. Our goal, right from the very beginning, has been to do this project methodically, and in such a way as to minimize the inherent dangers to our miners and support crews. We've remained compliant with all state and federal regulations.'

Starting about the middle of January the mine area began accumulating quite a bit of snow. 'The snow has made everything pretty slippery in that clay,' explained Jacobson, 'but our crews are continuing to work in spite of these conditions and continue to mine and process product."
