"The only comeback to rational thinking on this as I see it is to say Rogue nations cannot have nuclear power. And it is us who decides that.

Marking the world safe for Democracy."

It may strike you as arrogant of me to say this but I am not willing to live in a world with rogue states having nukes. If that doesnt meet your definition of fairness, tough.

"If you were a small country and you knew the power of the U.S. would you not feel more secure knowing that you had some cards to play in the game of poker ? It's one upmanship... "

Nope. Nations attained nukes as reaction to others. Russia has nukes so china needs them. China has them so India feels threatened and rightfully so back then. India gets them so Pakistan feels the heat. Thats proliferation and it should be stopped and reversed as best we can. But today rogue nations are playing in the water. You cannot have this NK regime with nukes for an extended period of time before they will be used. Same with Iran if current Mullahs are indeed crazy. And if they are not crazy there is no need for them to have nukes, is there? Who threatens them? The US you might say but its crazy to think that the US is a threat to a non-crazy Iran. mike
