Of course. Everyone is entitled to his huffs. My point is that the huffs that arise here in response to a question that is uncomfortable to this milieu are the same as the huff, aka kerfuffle, by the feminists over Sommers.

And that asserting an anti-huff principle/virtue in the face of one huff that one ignores in the face of the other huff is a variation on my personal, to use your word, bugaboo, hypocrisy, which sometimes gets to me, as yours does you.

I am quite experienced with the properties and practice of huffs. Asserting pots and kettles doesn't sit well with dogmatists of any stripe any more than does the transgression of milieu mores.

IMO it's really sad that huffs tend to obviate the engagement of questions, but I wouldn't deny anyone his right to have have them if he prefers.

PS. Gang huffs are, in part, a censorship tactic. They can serve to ward off or wear down the heretic.
