No Cascade is not a short seller. Cascade's real name is Chris Hvid - a mild mannered B.C. government civil servant who lives in Victoria, B.C. His broker used to be Odlum Brown and T.B. Read. He had a broker named Chet who used to hang around a lot with Mr. Jimmy John who hyped a stock named Plaza back in the 80's. Cascade (me) was a latecomer to the Bre-x story who played the dead cat bounce for a 100 dollar loss, incurring the wrath of the Bre-x hypesters when I changed my mind with 5 minutes of trading left in it. Plaza was a scam - it listed at 4.00 dollars and went to zero within about one month - it supposedly had high grade and a mill near Stewart, B.C. Jimmy John was a principal. And yes I am bitter. Maybe Naxos is good - knowing the history of another Jimmy John venture, I very much doubt it. I still see Jimmy John here in Victoria in my brokers office. I really wonder why he hangs around all these brokerage offices for the last 15 years. Am I a bad investor - I suggest not - I put most of my RRSP into Ballard - the fuel cell maker at 7.00 on the I.P.O. I am still holding now - it hit 49.00 yesterday. My submission was only a warning that at least one of the principals of Naxos has a dubious history. I submit that Farallon is a better story than Naxos - excellent resources in the ground and a high likelihood of a favourable settlement on some legal questions that have driven it down lower than it should be. I simply came on the Naxos thread while browsing SI and was shocked to learn that Jimmy John was involved. Again - be careful with this once - I have doubts.

The interest that my original post provoked is ample evidence that those on this thread are nervous holders - and that there is a groupthink process at work - just like there was on the Bre-x thread - where doubters are ridiculed until it is too late.

Cheers to all, and best wishes. I'm avoiding this thread from now - it reminds me too much of Bre-x - large claims with "patented" recovery methodology - not cool
