Agree. I've wondered if the reason we use 18 as an age to leave HS is that the States can better estimate the number of kids coming through, and so that they can get $xx.xx per day per kid....

Certainly not a good reason, if my guess is correct.

I took early classes years ago in HS, had more than enough college credits to graduate, and took extra credits so that I might have a head start for college. Also, planned my schedule as a Sr. so that I could get an early ED to go to work 20 hours a week....



CB: My suggestion -- do it like college. They've got x number of credits they need to earn to get a HS degree, and they can do it slow, or they can do it fast. If they want to carry an extra load and go to summer school and finish at 16, let them do it. If they want to work part time and go to school part time, let them do it. If they can test out, let them do it.
