So what did those countries that you listed do? They created the atmosphere and culture of hate that exists in the Middle East today. They used hatred of the West as a safety valve to deflect the growing discontentment of their people, who lack freedoms and a chance at a decent life and a chance to choose their own leaders. That's what they did. If you can't see that, then you are clearly in Raymond's category of Americans who don't really know what is going on in the Middle East. Well, you look, I live here, and I don't feel the hatred that you are claiming exists. I actually think most strangers that I encounter feel a friendly curiousity toward me. What do you think about that? Are the Arabs also taught how to conceal their "hatred" when dealing, day to day, with non-Arabs? Am I being fooled somehow every day in my personal experience? Or are you blindly believing the hate-propaganda you read in your living room in Des Moines? Do you know any Arabs at all?
