Yep, they are so desperate that they ignore what a total disaster the Iraq policy has been. They declared victory when the statue came down; we said "let's wait and see what happens next". Now they are declaring victory again... when Iraq is in total chaos. You're kidding, right? The ME is heading toward democracy, and GB will be remembered as the stubborn buffoon that brought it there, and you call it a disaster?? Think of the endgame in Iraq. How is there a scenario where the "insurgent" killers win, and the fledgling government vanishes? It seems 90% likely that the opposite occurs, which would be a resounding success for American policy. Why do you think Iraq is in "total chaos", as opposed to getting better and better by the month?
