America may well have crossed its Rubicon. We may be a hopeless wreck of a nation from here on out. An evil, militarized police state with little hope of ever reviving democracy while lying to the entire planet about our intentions to spread "barrel-of-the-gun demon-ocracy" across the planet wherever the greedy elites find resources they hope to plunder. Our best hope is to pull the carpet out from under this regime. In other words, if we could make their petroleum economy irrelevant to ordinary Americans by embracing emerging alternative energy technologies, their power would be greatly diminished.
