His asking the question? How can you say it was a "mis-judgment" if you don't know whether it's true or not? Has it been proven otherwise? Have you pre-judged? -gg-

I haven't made any judgment on whether it's true or not. I don't think we have the data to know.

As for the mis-judgment, I don't know why you've conflated judgment in speaking and the truth of what's said. You can say something true and still be exercising poor judgment in saying it. That's the premise of the old joke about a woman asking her husband "Do I look fat in this?"
