I don't want the state putting people to death, even if it saves lives. I don't think I care how many lives it saves. It's too adaptable to fascist tendencies, and too likely to be perverted by money and race. I feel the same way about gun control. Even if taking guns away from people would save lots of lives, I still think people should have them- it's an important right. Just as not being executed by the state is an important right- and worth, to me, the blood of victims, if it costs that. I think some freedoms need to be paid for in blood, and I really distrust the government, so those things that keep us less under the thumb of the government, I will be willing to pay a higher cost for, than things which are not as important to me.
