Gulo, I love to fish for pike. I missed a mother 4 years ago I can still see in my minds eye. I thought it was a LOG when it hooked up. No give at all just dead weight. Every time it saw the boat it took the Drag into a whine. I only saw it twice. Twisted my mepps into a 45* angle b4 it said goodbye.

I'm still flipping into weed holes and lettin it sink looking for another one like that. I'd tell you how big it was but I'd have to lie. :)

I've never caught a grayling or a lake trout. We have very few and little trout species around here. :(

Mostly bass [ large mouth, small mouth, white ] walleye, saugeye, crappie, lake perch .. musky but they are a tuff find. We go to the Niagara near Buffalo for salmon, just don't eat those. Small Mouth are my faves on a fly rod. We wade the rivers here for them just like trout fishing. A 3 lb small mouth on a fly rod with river current is a blast.
