Kodiak, I hear you on the youth thing but you might feel differently if Malvo had shot your wife in the head. He was shooting people 25 miles from where I work and I remember feeling uneasy pumping my gas. There's no way he couldn't comprehend the severity of those murders but I was more reacting to the court's reference to world opinion. I'll take your word for it that it was passing reference although I don't know how cruel and unusual punishment has to change over the course of time. I think bringing back the stocks for petty crimes might do a lot to improve the criminal justice system. If it wasn't cruel or unusual in 1800, why now? Sorry to hear about Mr. Flu. I've known several who have come down with it but so far have dodged it. I hope you're feeling better by now.
