Although I'm always willing to entertain conspiracy theories, I'm not gonna fall for the far-right theory that the OKC bombing was a cointelpro scheme devised by "the US government" merely to give the far-right underground a bad name.... Indeed, EVEN IF other bombs were planted in the Murrah building --which didn't collapse after the explosion, did you notice?-- in addition to the truck-bomb driven by McVeigh, SO WHAT?
You seem to imply that the Murrah building was among the most sensitive, hence the most guarded, facilities in the US... But, as I pointed out, Oklahoma City is a remote tank town that, prior to 1995, never made it to the FBI watchlist. The Murrah building was no Fort Knox! Nor was it a Federal Reserve subsidiary... It wasn't a DEA office, hence a target for the drug cartels. All that means that security and surveillance of the Murrah building was slapdash. Therefore, the terrorists didn't need the complicity of high-ranking officials to hatch the bombing of a low-key federal facility nobody ever heard of, cared about, still less worried about! And that's why McVeigh, Nichols and their accomplices targeted it in the first place: they knew that nobody would bother about a nondescript truck parked in front of the Murrah building.
