No need to cancel the elections. For one, he counted on the fact that the American sheeple would probably respond to his hot button issues like gay marriage and reelect him, which they did. For two, even if a Dem wins, so what? The Dems are only a shell of the party they once were. They're just about as corporatized as the Republicans these days. No way a Dem is going to go against the military industrial complex anymore. We all saw how willingly Clinton used the military when requested to do so. JFK found out the hard way what happens when you challenge the military. All is safe in Empire America.
