Yep, that's a real risk from 'half-hearted' sham reform. IMO the politicians are either too gutless, or too in-the-pocket of vested interests, to go for TRUE reform --- wiping out our current massively over-complex and corrupted code and replacing it with a simple, fair system.

But why should we allow ourselves to fall so far behind the former Communist nations of Europe who have gone for major tax simplifications?
