Early retirements have been around at least since 1993. <I still like the idea of training excess Navy and USAF folks to fight like Infantry.> :o) I do not have time to read every post on this thread, so I do not know if the above smilie face represents a joke or not. It is a fact that there is a program to convert sailors in overmanned rating to ground pounders.
