Good subject.

I'll try not to make all my entries seem like attacks on the right (there are as many wackos on the left as the right), but the first that came to mind was:

faith based anything = we need a theocracy.

Many people who consider themselves very religious believe that the rest of the population doesn't have enough of God in their lives. They believe that the US government was founded by religious men who had the intention of keeping religion as a close part of government, as evidenced by references to God and religion in their speeches, writings, and symbols. Which leads to:

Founding Fathers (when spoken by the right) = Patrick Henry
Founding Fathers (when spoken by the left) = Thomas Jefferson

The founding fathers were a diverse group, ranging from those who were semi-religious (Franklin, Jefferson, Washington) to those who would today be considered Falwellish (Henry). Not suprisingly, the anti-Federalists were amongst the most religious, for they clearly favored the power of theocratic states over a secular union.

On the other side:

Environmentalists = everyone, when asked in a survey.
True Believer Environmentalists = those who would rather suffer greatly than appear to be the consumers that we all are.

The trick is to reduce the overall consumption of natural resources through achievable and practical means. The difference between an Environmentalist and a True Believer Environmentalist is seen when you ask about hybrid cars. Environmentalists see them as a great idea; True Believers see them as evil. The rest of us know the truth:

True Believer Environmentalists = Whacko Antisocials.

IMHO... :)
