Yes, but may not be scalable. Solar power, I believe, has good potential. With the high end of power in California running about $.25/kilowatt-hour, it has reached a point of being somewhat practical. Unfortunately, there is still a high initial outlay and a fairly long ROI. If mass produced, we could have solar power that could be very practical. But, then again, that would cut into someone's profits...

Other terms:

Renewable Energy = something we won't see in our lifetime.
Nuclear Energy = The Embodiment of Satan On Earth (to some :)
Alternate Energy = energy that some other guy should use.
Practical Energy = whatever the energy companies have a monopoly on...
